My boys

I still cannot believe we have 2 boys! I love the idea that they will have each other as brothers for the rest of their lives and that Addie has two built in "protectors" to look out for her (though she has been shown to be able to hold her own pretty well.

Caden grows and changes and makes me laugh and sometimes clench my teeth almost every day. He is such an active, curious, energetic, spunky, smart, challenging....and I could go on...little boy! Its really hard to not look at your kids at the last stage they were in. Like with Caden, he is much less of a toddler now and so much more of a little boy. He can understand and reason and argue, and negotiate, and understand sarcastic humor (which is important in this house!) and show affection. He comes home from pre-school and Cubbies learning all kinds of new things. He now proudly knows the Pledge of Allegiance and sings the Star Spangled Banner (which in his little mind, goes like this..."Oh say can you see, by the dodgerly light....and "and the rockets red glare, cannibals bursting in air"). The other day, he and Jon brought me home flowers from the store and I was talking to Caden about something and out of nowhere he said, "mom could you just stop talking and enjoy your flowers?". It wasn't rude or disrespectful, just very matter of fact. He is really into superheros right now and loves to play "little puppy" with Addie which is a game where Caden pretends he is her little puppy and she takes him for walks etc. I love it when they play that game because they are usually gone for long periods of time playing happily by themselves.

Carson is a cute, chubby, gooey baby. He loves to smile at himself in the mirror, and loves to knaw on his fist and fingers. He goes through many outfits a day just from slobber alone. He was a fabulous sleeper as a newborn and now the honeymoon is over. He has become pretty dependent on his "human pacifier" and we will probably have to invite Dr. Ferber back into the Lenz house pretty soon :(
