The North Shore

So I have been very very very bad about keeping our blog updated. Somehow it falls to the bottom of the list and I just can't muster up the energy to update it regularly during my very few spare moments during the day. Being a mom is hard! When I do catch a rare moment to myself, I usually spend it trying to rest (just to make it through the rest of the day, or just to enjoy a bit of silent calm), or prep dinner, or catch up on bills, clean, make uninterrupted phone calls, etc. Needless to say, I just can't find the time or patience to keep our blog updated as it should be. That being said, it is important to me that our kids are able to look back at pictures and stories of their childhood so I will continue to work on our blog, entries just might come a little late....

So now would be a good of time as ever to announce the obvious...I was pregnant (hah)! Before we married, I told Jon I wanted a big family and would be delighted to have 4 or 5 kids. He shared that 2 would be his preference so we agreed to hope for 3. Since Caden and Addie keep our lives pretty "full" we had to re-visit that conversation and a little while later, learned we were pregnant and due a day after Caden's birthday, July 26th!

In May, Jon's best childhood friend Dennis got married in Hawaii. We were beyond thrilled to travel to the North Shore to celebrate the occasion. We stayed at Turtle Bay Resort and had a fabulous, relaxing vacation, just the 2 of us! Jon snorkled for the first time and was immediately hooked. It was so fun to drive around with the top down (we rented a convertible mustang for old times sake), sleep in, rest, talk uninterrupted, reconnect, let loose a little....a fabulous vacation!
