Fall Festival

This past weekend we enjoyed a family outing to the Tolay Fall Festival. It was a gorgeous fall day in wine country. The festival was out in the country and included a petting zoo, hay maze, a scarecrow building contest, a pumpkin seed spitting contest, and we ended it all with a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch. For lunch we enjoyed corn on the cob, baked potatoes with all the good stuff inside, and chocolate cupcakes!

The kids are growing and changing so incredibly fast. Caden is starting to say some really funny things randomly throughout the day. The other day he was in grocery store eating a bakery cookie and declared, "that's delicious"! A few days later, I was reading him a story, and he pointed to one of the pictures and said, "that's cool" in a way that you new he was testing new words. Though he still torments his sister by taking away any toy within reach, and riding her like a horse, he secretly really loves her. He always notices when she is gone (usually napping) and will ask me where she is. When she cries in the car he will say, "it's ok Addie, don't cry", and tonight while crying in the car, Caden told her to go to sleep!

Speaking of Addison, she slept 14 hours in a row a few nights ago. I used to worry and check in on her but have learned that the girl just really likes her slumber! She is fully mobile now, crawling throughout the house and putting everything she finds along the way in her mouth. She still has no teeth but is drooling a ton right now so I imagine a tooth is on it's way soon. She loves being out and about. Last night I took her to the grocery store and she was quite fussy, but as soon as anyone would pay attention to her, ie: make eye contact or smile or talk to her, she would flash them her three dimples and emphatically kick her legs. She LOVES attention from anyone and she gets a lot of it while we are out because she is so engaging. She has also found her voice and tonight while in Michaels, was shrieking to herself.  She really likes the swing at the park and even went down her first park slide this week.

Though today was a tough one, with a scary choking incident with her, a fall from the bar stool and therefore trip to the doctor with him,  and lots of crying in between, I will collapse tonight, as I do most nights, with a smile thinking about all the funny and loving parts of my day.
