Swimming Lessons Summer 2010
So....back to my belated blog...Spring of 2010 was a little nutty for our family and I was AWOL from our blog for many many months. In that time, Jon was offered a wonderful opportunity to become the next SELPA director of Tuolumne County. The funny thing is that he came home from work one day and told me about the offer and we both sort of chuckled..as in...been there and done that and ....could you imagine?! Well, a few days later, he came to me asking to "talk" about the job and after lots of thought, prayer, and consulting with family and trusted friends, WE decided to pursue the opportunity.
In June, while I was 37 weeks pregnant, we moved back to Sonora. I was very sad to leave our friends in Petaluma, our church, Caden's school, all the fun parks, and just the area in general. The kids adjusted really well and were quite excited after Jon told them that it snows in Sonora and we could go sledding. Again...wouldn't it be nice if life were just that simple? So we were one month away from a move, had no place to live and I was quite pregnant and in nesting mode. We were in the process of buying a house (they are much cheaper in Sonora than in the Bay Area) but as the process progressed, we became very nervous about our decision to buy and backed out. By the grace of God, truly, a fantastic home became available less than a mile from town and from Jon's work (compared to an hour commute in the North Bay). So mid June we left Petaluma, which was very bitter sweet and settled in Sonora. Sonora in the summer is HOT HOT HOT so I immediately got the kids in swim lessons, which they loved. It was a nice way to get acclimated to our new home and we spent many afternoons at the local pool!
