Sibling Love

Caden adores his little sis. Though he had a difficult time adjusting to a little less attention, he has come to understand that she is a permanent member of our family. He calls her "baby" and "Addie" and he regularly asks to hold her. He does so by slapping his hands on his lap and lately, after I place her gently on his lap, he waves his hand and says "bye bye", his way of asking me to leave the room so he can be alone with her! He also tells me when something is wrong with her. He will say "uh oh" if she loses her pacifier, when she has spit bubbles coming out of her mouth, when she is crying, or if he can't find her in the house. Addison, on the other hand, is a little less jazzed about her big brother at this point! She startles easily when he is around as we have had a few incidents of him being his rambunctious self around her (one time when he threw his bottle and it struck her square in the face, and a few other non-intentional jabs)! I think he will really enjoy being her big brother, having a playmate so close in age to himself and I am sure she will come to appreciate and love him in her own time!
